Happy 2000 posts for the Epi Dot Club...

This version was started 11 years ago... LOL

We lost the first one to the Great FDP Implosion of 2003.

Who knows how many more posts we had?

That's a nice gesture Hugh :)

I played a big old Dot borrowed from a feller at the local blues club this year. Did a solo spot before the band went on and I brought my Dano in open G and my Zip in open E, needed to play a couple of songs in standard tuning.

I have an Epi 339 so I did find the Dot quite an armful, but the sound of the Dot is the blues personified to me.

I brought my Anderson 3 pickup Tele and a BJ to Florida. Then I snagged a DRRI down here. Boy I wish I had brought my Dot to run the DRRI. The Duncan 59's in it would sound sweet

How do the frets hold up on the older (Korean) Dots?

I seem to acquire nicks and divots at an alarming rate on my Epi ES-339. That suggests the fret material is soft and doesn't inspire confidence as to the instrument's longevity.

I've posted to this thread several times through the years with different Dots that have come and gone. The body style is still my favorite. I have a "real" Gibson ES-335 now, as well as 3 Heritage Semi-Hollows based on my initial positive experience with Dots. While I love them all, and they are exceptional guitars, "bang for buck" award would have to go to the Dot. Amazing value. This fall I picked up this returned item from Musician's Friend for very little money. It's an Epiphone ES-339 P-90 Pro. Great guitar, save for some gritty frets.

I still own the Dot Deluxe that I'm sure I posed about back who knows when. Still a very good guitar after the pickup swap.

I'm taking the cherryburst Dot to Florida this winter. It's the only guitar I'm bringing down. This one is a sweetie and I'll gig it plenty down there.

Mods were already done by previous owner. Sperzels, bone nut, Classic 57's, Gotoh hardware and an RS harness inside. $400 off craigslist a few years ago. It sounds great and is fun to play. Rock, funk, blues, disco(?) I like this guitar in my hands

I, too, still have a Dot Deluxe. I haven't played it in a long time. I think it's time to revisit that thing, because I don't even remember how it sounds.
