Cool vid that amazing how the Toro has disappeared of the face of the earth now.

I rem it was in the RHCP video "cant stop" , and The callings "wherever you will go"

I first saw it there... I had ordered it before the video was over !

It's an early release Toro that is a yellow that I have never seen. maybe it's a repaint although I have seen another one on Ebay almost identical. It is a pale yellow not like the hunting vest yellow Toros that were released 99/00/01?. This is a 98 and I do not remember any yellow Toros that first year. Nonetheless the paint job is professional. This one will get some Seymour Duncans and push pull pots and a new pickguard like my other early Toros.

"This is a 98 and I do not remember any yellow Toros that first year."

The first year Vintage White Toro essentially was yellow. I believe it was the first discontinued Toro color. (I had one.)

You may be right CVH. While they did discontinue the vintage white they issued arctic white in subsequent years. Perhaps this is what I was referencing having never seen an actual vintage white back in 98. Actually I never saw any Toronado in any music store when they were released. My first Toro I bought from Musician's Friend on a whim and now I have 6 !!!

I went to Ernie's Toronado Players Club page on his website and looked at some of the members pics and there is one that is labeled vintage white that does look like the buttercream colored one I just bought.

Thanks for the info.

In 2002 the above colours were discontinued one's below introduced.

Sent my midnight blue Toro, (the one I installed the Bigsby on), at the shop to have a set of SD Alnico Pro II's installed w/coil tap volume pots. Also having the pick-up switch routed to accommodate a north south throw like the original Toros rather than the east west that came on the later Toros. I like to switch between pups by going up and down (like a Les Paul)

Should get her back this week.

Wow these SD Alnico Pros might be the best upgrade I've done on these Toros.

I use to scoff at those that suggested Toros can sound like Les Pauls. Really this is as close to my Gibby Traditional LP(with SD59's installed)as you can get.

Well I finally caught my "White Whale" to borrow from Herman Melville. I just Ebayed the elusive (to me) Arctic White Toronado I have lusted ever since early TPC member Patton posted the pic of his with the custom white pickguard on 69tele's site over 10 years ago. This will be my 7th Toro! Each one has different pups installed. For this one, when I get it, I think I will try Seymour Duncan 59/Custom hybrid in the bridge and probably a SD Jazz in the neck. Coil split volume pots of course. Also will put the Full Contact Hardware bridge saddles like my other early Toros. I paid more for this one than I did for my brand new one back in 1998..add to this the above mods and this will be one pricey Toro. But I truly love these.
